Cheap and Flimsy...

I picked this up at Wal-Mart for my son (2 yrs) for Easter. I was really excited about giving this to him, I though it was a great idea. Too bad it's so chintzy. First, if you're going to use this during the day, you need to be in a PITCH BLACK room, otherwise, you have to hold it right up against the wall, and the picture is very tiny. On Easter morning, the only room in our house that was that dark was our master bathroom (no windows).
The first couple days he really enjoyed flipping through the reels, and changing them out, but whenever he had the projector, he couldn't have cared less about the book. Three days later, after minimal use, he brought it to me cause it wouldn't work. I changed out the batteries, turned it on, and the light flickered on, then died...the little light bulb had burnt out! I'm sure I can replace it no problem, but who's gonna remember to pick up a new tiny little light bulb for a cheap book projector?
Overall, I don't really recommend this, but I also don't discourage anyone from buying it (at a local store...I CERTAINLY wouldn't pay shipping for this). While the projector is a joke, the book is still a perfectly good Cars story. My son still reads the book, but as of today, the projector is still sitting on my kitchen counter with a burnt out bulb...I'll get to it someday.

This is the most fun ever

We are having the world's greatest time projecting these images onto the ceiling as I read a chapter a night. All of the kids pile in for this. What a fun idea!!!!
